Housewifery

I was literally spinning as I go down my task list. A long weekend ahead but is it long enough?

The weekly food shop was put away. The Bana and I will be skinnier and wealthier if we forego food for a month.

The recycling bag will be collected so paper, plastic, glass and tins were washed (the council requested this to be done to avoid food contamination) and sorted.

Windows and doors desperately need a good clean. The summer sun (oh yes) cannot hide the winter grime any longer.

Twort household population is two and why do we have so much crumbs on the floor? I whined as I hoovered.

Washing machine was loaded with bedclothes and towels and curtains. Have to make use of the sunny weather. I think naturally dried linens always have that freshly washed scent (thinking of a detergent advert now). Most of my girlfriends don’t iron towels and bedclothes – sadly I still do. They say I am mad. They are right.

So, that’s my duty to God, Me and Planet fulfilled for now.

The Bana Saga -

The bana decided to move the reading lamp behind the chair just above the head of whoever is reading. I don't know but the following spring to mind: a hairdryer in a beauty saloon, a dentist chair and worst an electric chair. This is aesthetics v functionality.

Work Life Balance

If I am not @ work...

I would (at home) clean windows, clean the doors,

iron clothes, repot the tomato seedlings and

have leisurely coffee with the Bana.

But I am @ work therefore I just write about it.

Stylist at Work

Miss X, a colleague at work requested me if I could help her sort her summer clothes. She thinks that a new set of eyes (my eyes?) would certainly help her in this mix and match malarky. I said yes – and she turned up at work with two suitcases: one full of tops and skirts and trousers and jeans and the second one full of sandals and flip-flops. She also brought along all her light coats and jackets and most of her accessories.

This exercise is tricky because I might end up making her look like me. She might become a mini Me. God forbid – one Me is enough.

Lunch break was spent in a room in the office building trying on outfits. Decisions were made which clothes to discard and photos were taken to remind Miss X of which outfits suit her.

We are still talking; we have not fallen out.

Should I be rethinking my career path? The Bana says – please don’t give up the day job, dear. Bummer.

HERE COMES THE SUN!!!

Here comes the sun, here comes the sun,
and I say it's all right

Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter
Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
and I say it's all right

Little darling, the smiles returning to the faces
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
and I say it's all right

Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...

Little darling, I feel that ice is slowly melting
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been clear
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun,
and I say it's all right
It's all right
