Driving Lesson Update

After 30 lessons and after spending a fortune I could do the following comfortably and (80%) confidently:

Start the car (hah hah!!)

Reverse park, turn in the road and reverse in a corner

Drive in the middle of the road

Drive in all types of weather conditions (fog and mist; rain and sleet)

Steer and change gear at the same time

Approach a junction

Approach and manoeuvre around a roundabout

Stop and start in a traffic light (more hah, hah!!)

Park, stop the car and switch engines off (hah hah!!)

I am reading the Highway Code (yawn!!). I need to pass the Theory Test before I could book a Practical Driving test. To be honest brain is hurting—cause: information overload.

My driving instructor is still the best. Although there was one time that he was in a mood. This affected me so much that I panicked and I was a train wreck after the lesson. I will mention the incident to him once I passed my driving test ;-). And, my driving instructor smells nice. I think this is very important especially that we are in a confined space for an hour!!!!

I am still afraid but “I feel the fear and do it anyway”!!

Flower Power

I don't have my mom's green fingers. Mommy is amazing when it comes to plants. This photo was taken two months ago - I am sure with weather changing in the Philippines the garden is now in full bloom.

At home I have potted plants (pathetic attempt to have some sort of garden). Presenting to you my plants:

Rita gave me this plant two years ago.

8 years ago we bought this plant which flowers every Easter. V hardy and still with us!!

My mother in law gave this plant to us 5 years ago because she thought it was dying (I don't mean it to sound that way :-). A bit of TLC and new soil here it is!!

More of a presentation plant - I bought this when Auntie Fe was with us in December 2006. It is placed near the sink - for obvious reasons.

Yes a money plant

Favourite So Far

My Ipod is full of cheesy tunes but this one I rate the best!!! and this is not cheesy!! I dedicate this to everyone who have touched my life.

Whistle down the wind
Let your voices carry
Drown out all the rain
Light a patch of darkness
Treacherous and scary

Howl at the stars
Whisper when you're sleeping
I'll be there to hold you
I'll be there to stop
The chills and all the weeping
Make it clear and strong
So the whole night long
Every signal that you send
Until the very end
I will not abandon you
My precious friend

So try and stem the tide
Then you'll raise a banner
Send a flare up in the sky
Try to burn a torch
And try to build a bonfire
Every signal that you send
Until the very end, I'm there
So whistle down the wind
For I have always been right there

Howl at the stars
Whisper when you're sleeping
I'll be there to hold you
I'll be there to stop
The chills and all the weeping
Make it clear and strong
So the whole night long
Every signal that you send
Until the very end
I will not abandon you
My precious friend

So whistle down the wind
Let your voices carry
Drown out all the rain
Light a patch of darkness
Treacherous and scary
Every signal that you send
Until the very end, I'm there

So whistle down the wind
For I have always been right there

Music: Andrew Lloyd Webber
Lyrics: Jim Steinman
The song was written for the musical "Whistle down the wind" (1998) by Lloyd Webber and Steinman.
